Exploring the mythical creature of Medousa, six artists come together to design a collaborative print with the use of silkscreen.
Each practitioner -an active printmaker- originates from a different design background; from illustration, graphic design, typography and papermaking to print media.
Interestingly, given the projects size restrictions to fit all artwork frames on a 100cm sheet paper was surprisingly refreshing. The collage of artworks allowed us to feel less pressured about how the design would appear next to someone else’s and allowed us to focus on giving our unique interpretation; deciding about how we would bring them all together later, live with the use of print.
Good communication and teamwork in the print room lead us to 3 powerful colour variations, all being unique since printed with alternating ink gradients.
